the perspective is interesting :D and maaaaan i love the colours <3333333
just try not to use dodge, then this swirly magic ball should look better. you could try painting it with just watercolours :)

I'm not really sure about 2nd version either
This swirly magic sorta stuff breaks the atmosphere and beautiful colour tones of 1st version. IMO the 1st ver just needs a little retouch to be really really perfect <3

i like the colours, though at first i wasn't sure about them, because you used quite a few bright and ummm.. intense, should i say XD but i think it came out nice. i like the red bandage thing and the shiny pattern which coveres half of the guy's face - those make the picture a lot more interesting :D
if there is one thing i should complain about, it's the composition. it's nice and dynamic ok, but imho it would be better if you moved the guy and the skull a little bit to the left (or the right), because notice that right now the hand that he's stretching inside of the skull's mouth is situated diagonally. Well, that is not really a big problem, but an unsymetic composition would make the painting even more dynamic, i belive :)
