owww... hm, that can be truly hard. first of all, i think, is problem, that with mouse you can't draw fast and with strong moves of hand. It's depends rather on drawing piece by piece but I don't know mouse very well, I draw with tablet. I think that if you draw in "real life" you should buy a tablet, it's not so expensive (I bought my first for... err... circa 40$? I don't know how can I put zloty into dollars). Try to spend about half an hour on drawing first sketch, maybe it will help. You must get know about moves of mouse.(omg what did i write! XD)

Draw on paper first - a lot.Show your works to the people, ask them for advice.. Look at things, shapes, shading, colors - try to draw something in your mind first before you will put it onto paper.
You will never learn the basic without pencils and a piece of paper - then you may try oekaki.
