i moved this picture from Inne. you obviously put it there, please don't deny it. then it was ME who dropped it to level2, not you. it ended up on Tira, because i consulted my decision with the administrator.

if you're not sure abut the amount of details and the quality of execution required for each board i highly encourage looking at other works on certain boards and HONESTLY compare it with your picture.

emphasizing the character's personality (and also light effects) by using dark, contrasting colours is good. but you have to remember that dark/light balance is important and you need to make sure that the viewers can actually SEE what's on the picture. good examples of dark colour scheme works (characters depicted at night) are and for Inne and for Level 2. as you can see the spectrum of colours and brightness is rather wide, the details and shapes are clearly defined, while the picture still reads as dark/night environment.

also i said you don't seem to use the applet's tools with ease because you said in your comment "Finnally figured out all the wierd special effects enough to finish this." which in my opinion meant you're still a beginner and this was your first attempt at exploring the tools more.

the smoke is good, don't worry.

oh and also i checked those references- actually some of them are fanarts of rather poor quality, but please notice that most use lighter details and a wider palette of hues (more than 3)
